Truck Mounted Mortar Application Package
The photograph on the right is an example of mortar mixing and application equipment installed on a crew cab four wheel drive truck. In this case, the contractor wanted to apply mortar by centrifugal spray and, as such, needed sufficient air to run the mortar spinner. Madewell assembled and installed the following components on this customer-supplied vehicle:
- Atlas Copco 185 cfm diesel powered air compressor/power unit
- Hydraulically powered mortar mixer/pump
- 250 gallon water storage tank
- Steel pallet rack for a single pallet of mortar (with space for hose storage beneath)
- Hydraulically powered pressure washer housed in a tool box mounted under the bed
A Truck Rig That Does It All

- Hydraulically powered mortar mixer/pump
- 330 gallon water storage tank
- Full truck width steel pallet rack
- Hydraulically powered pressure washer

Changing Configurations as Needs Arise
The advantage of purchasing equipment as components becomes obvious when the job description changes. What if you needed to restore manholes along a remote right of way in a swamp? The photograph on the right shows how a track mounted dump truck was converted into a manhole lining rig using components borrowed from a highway truck package. Many Mainstay contractors have moved equipment components from one platform to another as time and needs change.
