Ancillary Application Equipment

Madewell Products Corporation offers an assortment of ancillary equipment that can be used to increase the efficiency and productivity of our main equipment offerings.

Mortar Application Equipment

The Mainstay Centrifugal Mortar Applicator
The Mainstay Centrifugal Mortar Applicator is used to apply restoration mortars to cylindrical structures such as manholes.

Features and Benefits:

  • Increased productivity versus conventional hand spray
  • Reduces the amount of time personnel are in the structure
  • Increases the velocity of the restoration mortar, increasing bond strength
  • Better application uniformity resulting in reduced material usage
  • Uniform application reduces finishing time

Conventional Spray Application Nozzles
Conventional Spray Application Nozzles are used when the structure shape does not lend itself to use of centrifugal application techniques.  Three different nozzles sizes are available depending on the application:
  • Conventional wet mix shotcrete nozzles (left) are used to restore large structures and where there is plenty of room to maneuver the nozzle.  Benefits include high mortar velocity and high production rates.  Requires large volumes of compressed air.
  • Medium velocity wet mix shotcrete nozzles (middle) are the most commonly used nozzles with Madewell's mortar mixing and pumping equipment.  Mortar atomization is not as fine and mortar velocity is not as high, but compressed air volume is drastically reduced.
  • Specialty nozzles (right) are used to apply mortar which is more fluid and typically applied at lower thicknesses (< 1/4").  These nozzles offer the lowest productivity in terms of volume of mortar applied, but also offer a more uniform finished surface.

The Mainstay Quad Pod
The Mainstay Quad Pod is a specialized piece of application equipment used to apply restoration mortars by centrifugal spray in deep manholes where the weight of the mortar hose and centrifugal sprayer is greater than a single person can comfortably handle.  The Mainstay Quad Pod has been used to mortar line manholes up to 90' deep.

Specialized Surface Preparation Equipment

Centrifugal High Pressure Water Cleaning System
The Centrifugal High Pressure Water Cleaning System allows personnel to perform a majority of the surface preparation work without entering the manhole.  Upon completion of preliminary surface preparation, personnel enter the structure to finish the operation.
